RESIDENCE LIFE
The University of Pittsburgh Housing Services and Residence Life staff help over 5,000 resident students each academic year. Living plans include single rooms, doubles, triples, quadruples, and suites, along with special interest floors. Residence hall accommodations on the Pittsburgh campus are guaranteed for three years from the time of offered admission to Fall Term freshman applicants who are admitted and pay their tuition deposits by May 1.

ACTIVITIES
There are more than 225 student activity groups at the University of Pittsburgh, from creative to religious, academic to pre-professional, and athletic to intellectual. If you don't find the activity you desire, find nine other interested students, and you can start your own organization.

SPORTS
Most of the University of Pittsburgh's athletic teams compete in the Big East Conference. Pittsburgh fields 19 men's and women's varsity teams. Men's sports include: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, soccer, swimming and diving, track and field (indoor and outdoor) and wrestling. Women's sports include: basketball, cross country, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field (indoor and outdoor) and volleyball.

Intramural sports are also popular. Last season, approximately 9,400 students participated in 2,750 contests--football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and other sports. Additionally, non-traditional options are also available through clubs for rowing, ice hockey, martial arts, lacrosse, equestrian, ski and snow boarding, cycling, field hockey, volleyball, and rugby, to name a few. Moreover, students can work out on their own at seven recreational facilities located in convenient locations throughout campus, and at the Trees Hall gymnasium, the Charles L.
